Don’t get us wrong, what we meant by date, was to hang out with her one on one. Let her catch up a bit on your life and you can get in touch with hers in a more intimate manner. Aside from the “have you eaten?”/ “What time will you end work?” / “I won’t be home for dinner, don’t cook my portion”
Besides the annual appreciation day aka Mother’s Day ( if you’re still not aware, it’s happening in 2 weeks), it’ll be nice to hang out with her at least once a month. It doesn’t have to be a costly affair, I’m sure she’ll appreciate the little things and effort that you actually take time out to spend with her
Pull her away from the mundane chores and leave her with no choice but to enjoy her day with her kids. We’ve a few activities you could do with mama dearest. If you feel you’ve spent time with mama quite often, check out what are the other activities you’ve yet to hit with her.
1. Morning Exercise

Bring her out for a hike/walk @ of the reservoirs/parks. Gently remind her that a little exercise a week will be good for her in the long run and keep her motivated with regards to this exercising piece.
2. Dim Sum Brunch Date
If she doesn’t love a dim sum date, then switch it up with an English high tea instead!
3. Take up a class together
If you’re both over 25 that’s even better, you can make use of your skillsfuture funds, and pick one of the 1-day workshops, which can range from cooking classes to calligraphy ones.
4. Have a Staycation
If you love staycations with your partner, why not bring your mum for one too. She’s probably as excited to jump into fluffy white sheets and to chill by the hotel pool before taking a nice dip.
5. Taking her instagram worthy Cafes
Get your mum on instagram and introduce her to the world of photography :p . So the next time when you’re checking out the newest cafe in town, she’ll be as excited as you.
6. Pick a new read @ Library /Book shop
Bring her to the library/bookstore and get her to read some new books/magazines that she might like. or you could get her to read to you just when you were a kid 🙂
7. Beach Stroll

Take dinner at the East Coast Park food centre before having a nice stroll whilst enjoying the sea breeze. Alternatively, you can choose to chill at the sentosa beach for the day.
8. Bring her to a concert
Keep your eyes glued when you see her favourite singer is in town and bring her to watch them, alternatively you can get her to listen to your favourite singer that you recently bought tix to and bring her with you.
9. Movie date
When all other plans fail to take place, this would be the best fallback. Who doesn’t love a good movie date? If nothing is good in the theatres, you can always get mama to Netflix and chill with you, add a little wine to go along as well.
This list can go on, but our point, was to spend time consistently with your mummy, appreciation shouldn’t be only shown once a year, and I’m sure you’ll enjoy the kinship companionship too!
Also if you’ll like to surprise your mother with something nice ( think flowers and yummy cupcakes) in two weeks time, you can check out our Mother’s Day collection!
